Sardines on toast - a true comfort food.
My father, born in 1896, one year after your grandfather, also loved sardines. He ate his on Saltine crackers. He died in 2000 at 104 years old. Perhaps the simplicity of sardines contributed to his longevity. Or was it the ice cream?đ
